Carrying on from last week my aim was to finish my toile blouse at the start of this week to then start constructing my final outfit. The last few bits I had to do was create ruffles and sew this onto the neckline of the blouse. I wanted to test this out as I had never used ruffles before and wasn't sure how much fabric I needed to create the size and length of ruffle I needed.
I experimented with different sizes and overall I'm very happy with the size I have sewn onto the blouse. The ruffles work really well with this shape of neckline and show off the shape well.
I will definitely be using this size within my final garment.

In the later part of the week I managed to start constructing my final dress garment. This went really well as I had a clear image on how it was supposed to look as I had created a toile before hand. I also remembered to sew in the darts which was something I had changed to my patterns after my toile to create a nicer fit.
I'm also really happy with the fabric, I choose cotton as this is a traditional fabric to use for dirndls and the fabric has created a really nice hangs and movement in the full circle skirt.
I then moved onto embroidering the neckline, overall I'm really happy with how this turned out as it compliments the neckline really well and its subtle. I choose to do a floral design as this a traditional German embroidery pattern and I wanted to bring in that traditional sense into the garment.
My next steps is to start constructing my final blouse and working to complete my final garments.
