19th -23rd February - constructing my jacket!!!

Over the half term I had ordered my fabric and cut my panels out so I was ready to start constructing my jacket first thing Monday morning!

This was a easy task as I had constrctured my toile before hand and new what order I needed to construct my jacket in.

The only tricky part I found was lining up the bias binding equal so that my sewing would be straight. I found this especially hard to sew around the arm whole, but this is something I'd like to practise again and use in my FMP as I enjoy this type of seam neatening as it creates a really professional look.

I gave myself all week to complete this jacket and this was plenty of time. I wanted to give myself enough time so that I could take my time and really work on my accuracy.

I did decided to hand sew some of the tassels done which created more of a shape and pattern to the sleeves which I think looks a lot more meaningful than just letting them hang.

I really enjoyed how this jacket turned out and think it links back to I-D well.
